In 2002 I started a local concert series in St. Marys church, founded in the 12 century, in the heart of Walthamstow Village. It has a really lovely atmosphere for chamber music. Music in The Village, as it has become known, has an ever growing audience comes from all over East London, and many from further beyond.
We are moving to St. Michael and All Angels for concerts March 20th and onward, due to proposed building work at S. Mary's.
Trevor Pinnock CBE gave our very first concert and included a first performance of a new piece, too. We are proud to say that we have had a world premiere every year since (sometimes more than one).
It is our policy to commission equal numbers of male and female composers

Music in the Village is a not for profit organisation, it's aim is to provide affordable concerts of the highest standard.
ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
Music in the Village had an artist in residence through the 2017-18 season. Anna Alcock was working from the gallery at each concert. I was very excited to see the work our concerts inspired.
