In 2002 I started a local concert series at
St. Marys church, in the heart of Walthamstow Village. It has a really lovely atmosphere for chamber music. Our audience comes from all over East London, and beyond.
The church address is St Mary's Church, Church Hill E17 9RL. You can phone me for details on 020 8223 0772. Better still, email me through this website.
Trevor Pinnock CBE gave our very first concert and included a first performance of a new piece, too. We've had a world premiere every year since.
'Music in the Village' is a not for profit organisation, it's aim is to provide affordable concerts of the highest standard. Ticket prices have been held at £13 [£6.50 seniors and students] for a few years now; we will attempt to do that again in the 2017-18 season.
I couldn't have done it without Gail Hennessy, my partner - Gail is the Art Department and is fellow worker bee for the concerts.

0ur Summer Solstice "Son et Lumiére" at St. Michael and All Angels (Northcote Rd. E17). Starts as the sun goes down at 9.20pm. 60 minutes of peace to enjoy a moment of peace or meditation with a recording of plainchant made by Ensemble Organum from the 18th century choir books of the Cathedrale d'Auxerre . Over 700 hundred candles were lit to illuminate the church in 2017.
It's a free event! Come and go as you please.
Music in the Village will have an artist in residence for the 2017-18 season. Anna Alcock will be working from the gallery at each concert. I'm very excited to see the work our concerts inspire.
